Dr. K. M. Mijanur Rahman is a skilled Wildlife Ecology, Management and Conservation Biologist with more than 18 years of experience in nature conservation and management. Currently, he is working as a Senior Consultant at EQMS Consulting Limited. He completed his B.Sc. in Zoology and M.Sc. in Wildlife Ecology, Management and Conservation Biology from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. He was awarded Fully Funded Research Grant Scholarship for Ph.D. program in 2014 and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biological Sciences from Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Russia, in 2019.

He has expertise in ecological baseline surveys, ecological investigations of terrestrial and aquatic habitats, habitat restoration, wildlife biodiversity and composition analysis, wildlife monitoring, status surveys, population estimation, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, community-based conservation education, and Critical Habitat Assessment. He is also adept at data analysis and interpretation of ecological considerations and the preparation of Biodiversity Action Plans for development projects based on lenders' safeguard requirements.

As a Consultant and Wildlife Expert, he has worked on projects implemented by various government and non-government organizations and funded by UNDP, USAID, UNHCR, the World Bank (WB), IFC, ADB, and JICA. To date, Dr. Mijan has published more than 15 research articles in leading peer-reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, as well as journals recognized by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation.

He is associated with several professional societies and organizations, including the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC), IUCN SSC Monitor Lizard Specialist Group, Zoological Society of Bangladesh, and the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management Programme (BIOPAMA).
