Project Details
The objective of this project is to evaluate and address the shortcomings and needs in solid waste management in Bhasan Char. The study will examine the suitability of a circular economy approach for waste management and offer guidance to WASH organizations for implementing a comprehensive solid waste management plan in Bhasan Char. The research will examine the capacity of the current waste management facilities, including the plastic waste plant, for the existing population of 28,000, and explore ways to effectively accommodate and manage the anticipated increase in population up to 100,000.
The study will also search for practical and eco-friendly solutions for solid waste management in Bhasan Char. Currently, various types of waste are collected from households, drainage systems, and marketplaces, and their characteristics will be analyzed. The research will determine the quantity and types of waste being produced in these sources and make projections based on the current population and the projected increase. The study will provide comprehensive technical solutions and assess the financial and environmental benefits of the proposed waste management system.
